Shilpa Shastra
At Dantani Jain Tirth in Rajasthan, during the consecration ceremony of the Jain temple, Muni Shri Hemchandra Vijayji, a distinguished disciple of Achal Gachhadhipati Shri Kalaprabha Sagar Suri Ji, received guidance on Jinalaya architecture (Shilpa Shastra) and Vastu Shastra from the renowned astrologer and scholar of Gujarat, Jain Yativarya Shri Himanshuji Maharaj.

Shilp Shastra (Temple Architecture) is very essential for the construction of a Jain temple. In ancient traditions, it is important to have a deep and precise knowledge of the art and craftsmanship.
Accurate guidance for 351 Jain temples has been received as a legacy from our revered father Maharaj.
Essential information related to Vedic Vastu.

- The slope of the land should be towards the north and east, and the roof should slope towards the northeast (Ishan) for auspiciousness.
- Underground water sources, borewells, ponds, or stepwells located in the north, east, or northeast of the plot are considered auspicious.
- Rectangular, circular, and cow-faced (Gomukh) plots are auspicious for house construction. In circular plots, the construction should also be circular in shape.
- Lion-faced (Singhmukh) plots are considered auspicious for commercial buildings.

- An extension in the north, east, or northeast corner of the plot is considered auspicious.
- A road in the north or east of the plot is auspicious for residences. South or west-facing roads are considered favorable for commercial spaces.
- If a basement is to be constructed in a residential building, it should be in the northeast, avoiding the Brahmasthan (central space). The height of the basement should be at least 9 feet, and its floor should be 3 feet above ground level to allow proper ventilation and natural light.
- The ceiling height of each floor in the building should be 12 feet, and it should never be less than 10 feet.
- The southern part of the building should always be higher than the northern part, and the western part should be higher than the eastern part. The southwest (Nairitya) should be the highest, and the northeast (Ishan) should be the lowest.
- Windows should be more in the north and east, and fewer in the south and west.
- The Brahmasthan (central part of the house) should be open, clean, and well-ventilated.
- The maximum open space within the compound wall should be in the east, as sunlight in the morning provides Vitamin D, which increases the body's energy. The sun rises in the east, moves to the south in the afternoon, and sets in the west in the evening.
